We recently began looking at land to build spec houses. Since our son works for the best Architecture firm in the world, we do have an advantage.

However, my husband and I still love taking an unloved house and turning it into a dollhouse for a new family. Not only do we get to feel great about our work, we also help the neighborhood, and Habitat for Humanity. (We buy house parts from ReStore, Habitat's thrift store, and donate working appliances that we replace.)
