Real Estate Investing Facts
Scared of Real Estate Investing?
By Jeanette Joy Fisher
Real estate investing has created more millionaires that ALL other businesses combined. Why don't more people invest in real estate? Because they're afraid. When you understand the facts about real estate investing, you won't be scared to start building your future wealth.
Facts about Investing in Real Estate
1. You don't have to take huge risks that jeopardize your financial future. Real estate investing, more secure than stocks or mutual funds, has helped more people build wealth with security. You have more control over real estate than stocks and mutual funds.
2. Real estate investing helps you keep ahead of inflation. Why make 4% interest in a bank savings account? Savings accounts will not keep up with inflation.
3. Real estate investing doesn't require a lot of cash. You can buy houses, even as an investor, with no money down. You will need to have the ability to pay for repairs if you purchase a fixer, but many investors even finance these costs with the purchase mortgage.
4. Real estate investing doesn't require great credit. Of course, the better your credit, the less you pay in mortgage costs. But, you can get started investing in real estate with less than perfect credit and then use your new wealth to improve your credit score.
5. You can make money in any real estate market. In hot markets, you have more competition in purchasing great deals but an easy time reselling for amazing profits. In cool markets, you can find more anxious sellers to pick up bargains. You can either get tenants to make your mortgage payment or attract buyers by making your home simply irresistible to buyers with home staging. People always need housing and property sells in any market.
6. You don't have to fix houses if you don't have the time or skills. You can start with houses that just need a fast clean up and make them pretty.
7. You don't have to buy junkers in dangerous neighborhoods. In fact, many cities have areas in transition where other investors have already made inroads in neighborhood revitalization.
